Laura Brehm graduated from the University of Maine in 2013 with a degree in Ecology and Environmental Science. Wanting a change of climate and a new experience, Laura moved to Tucson in 2015 where she worked as an intern for Saguaro National Park. Through her work in Saguaro, Laura fell in love with the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert as well as the local culture of Tucson and has lived here ever since.
From her first experience working on a diversified vegetable farm in Dresden, Maine, Laura has not been able to stay away from local food and farming. After three years of farming and market managing, Laura started her own local food distribution business- Laura’s Locals. Laura’s Locals strives to provide the best quality, locally sourced produce that Tucson has to offer- even bringing in a few of Laura’s own produce grown in her backyard! You can find Laura’s Locals at the Santa Cruz River Farmers Market every Thursday and at the Heirloom Rillito Racetrack Farmers Market every Sunday.
